I am so excited to introduce my friend, Kate Norton, to you as a guest blogger. She is a makeup artist and expert in skincare and beauty.
Kate and her husband, Jay, live in Kansas City with their children, Ella and Leo. Kate works as a freelance makeup artist and has worked on many great projects with the likes of Al Gore, Paul Rudd, the Backstreet Boys and many others.
We are so lucky to have Kate contribute to Open Home as a beauty editor. I hope you enjoy getting to know her too.
OH: Where are you from?
KN: I am from England. I was born in Devon. When I was younger we moved to Papua New Guinea & Australia. Later we returned to England and I grew up in a place called Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.
I believe that makeup and skin care are as important as nutrition and exercise.

OH: How did you become interested in Makeup and Skincare?
KN: As a child in Papua New Guinea, my parents would take us to the highlands to watch the tribes get ready for their celebrations. I was fascinated by their elaborate makeup, and felt pulled to the makeup as an art form and a form of expression. I love makeup, and I love how it can transform a face, express individuality and create a mood.
OH: What’s your favorite beauty secret?
KN: Drinking lots of water, good sleep and healthy eating. I believe that makeup and skin care are as important as nutrition and exercise.
Kate recently took a trip to CVS Pharmacy to pick up some of her favorite items. She was generous enough to share them with us.
